Patatas Bravas: My Favorite Spanish Snack

Patatas Bravas are, by far, the most delicious snack in all of Spain. Although Spaniards aren’t exactly known for their love of spicy foods, patatas bravas pack a wallop, at least by Spanish standards. Elegant in its simplicity, patatas bravas consists of chopped potatoes covered by either a spicy tomato sauce or ali oli garlic sauce (more common in Catalonia in my experience), which isn’t quite as spicy. You can always add a little hot sauce if you’d like, however.

Patatas Bravas get their name from their area of origin: the Brava coast of Catalonia. A quintessential Spanish tapa, they can be found in pretty much any tapas bar worth its salt in the nation.

It’s surprisingly difficult to find a good bravas recipe online, but here’s the better Patatas Bravas Recipe I’ve come across. As you can see, they are very easy to prepare.

patatas bravas are indeed quite the spicy thing in spain as i have lived there and can definitly say what a blow this is the spiciest if not the only that has spice and is indeed a nice appetizer although quite filling i recomend this to anyone who desires spice small quantity but filling.
note although this is spicy it doesnt lose its taste and is still quite enjoyable if you can stand spice.
