The auction was pulled and my account was warned. When I inquired further, they said that Rosetta Stone does not allow transferring used products from one person to another. Basically once you buy a copy it is solely yours whether you end up liking it or not. I'd be extremely wary of any used copies you find on the internet. There are alot of dishonest people waiting to prey on people like me who have limited income. I wish I could've pressed charges against the people who did this to me. I have no concrete evidence of that, but it sounds like a reasonable assumption. But I don't think the software will stop working if somebody else registered it, if that's what you're wondering.
