Although Spaniards aren’t exactly known for their love of spicy foods, patatas bravas pack a wallop, at least by Spanish standards. Elegant in its simplicity, patatas bravas consists of chopped potatoes covered by either a spicy tomato sauce or ali oli garlic sauce (more common in Catalonia in my experience), which isn’t quite as spicy. You can always add a little hot sauce if you’d like, however.

Patatas Bravas get their name from their area of origin: the Brava coast of Catalonia. A quintessential Spanish tapa, they can be found in pretty much any tapas bar worth its salt in the nation.

It’s surprisingly difficult to find a good bravas recipe online, but here’s the better Patatas Bravas Recipe I’ve come across. As you can see, they are very easy to prepare.
